The Anathema

July 1, 2009

a delicious realization
worthy of Kubrick’s eyes
something truly unexpected
dawns like a blazing sun,
his shining face rising above
those who said it could not
be done; that is, if they knew
two pairs of eyes seeking
dark corners for dark deeds
and if found will move
against better judgment
but once the dream comes
to its foretold ending
can the razor’s edge cut
close enough to escape
but far enough away that
it won’t spring forth
waves of crimson that
will stain my mind again
for when we stand there
ribcage to ribcage, I will say
“forgive my lips, for they find
pleasure in the strangest places”
